Job Title: Database programmer/administrator
Office Location: Hong Kong

Job Function Summary
Our company is seeking an individual that can build and manage the database system for our new company. This newly developed, efficient, robust, and scalable database will form the core of the company’s market data infrastructure, storing daily and intraday data from global markets.

Principal Responsibilities
Build, support, manage, and monitor the database.
Lead or participate in a variety of projects that would involve the use of the database.
Assist in the design and implementation of tools for connecting the database to front end systems like Excel or custom GUIs.
Work closely with traders on any data the company and the traders will need.

Qualifications/Skills Required
Relevant experience in database design/maintenance.
Knowledge in financial market data preferred.
Experience with market data systems such as Bloomberg and Reuters preferable.
Experience in data manipulation using general purpose high-level programming.
Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
Analytical. Highly motivated. Team player.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
